Great news, I am going to Finland!

The TAF-festival agreed to have me and my new work (which is practically finished, btw) in, so I finally have a forum to show my work.

The date of the publishing is 10.5., a saturday. So, if anyone here happens to be in Finland that day, make sure you're in Tampere. And everyone in Tampere, I'm so much looking forward in coming there, meeting other artists and being part of the festival.

Am I TAF enough?

I may have found a place for showing my installation. As I have said, my father is finnish and that's why I know some people there. They knew about my problem with the local art exhibitions, so they told me about this finnish art school festival, TAF, that might be able to help.

About a week ago I contacted them and explained my situation. The reply was very positive and they promised to talk about taking my work to the festival. I should get an answer tomorrow, I'm so exited! The installation is almost ready and the festival happens next weekend, so if I am accepted there, I'm quite in a hurry.

Hello, sorry that I haven't wrote anything for some time now, but I've been busy building my new installation.

In my last entry I said that I've been keeping out of the art shows, because I don't wan't to build or move my installations to a specific place - and because I am pretty shy. Now, however, I think I will try to get this work into public display, if just to annoy those few who have taken it to themselves to tell my that my art is wrong.

I just don't know if I can find someone who will take my work. I'll try to contact those who have asked me to participate in their shows, although that was a few years ago. There's also a small chance to get my work to an art festival abroad, but I'll tell more about that if it works out. I'm pretty excited still.

Those who critisized me have been silent for some time, propably because they weren't able to contact me directly, which is the way I like it. When my work is ready, I hope it gives them something to talk about, again.

I'll tell you where you might be able to see my work as soon as I get some info myself, so hang tight:)

Hi, everyone. This is the official blog of Wesuria, who is me:)

Everyone who will ever read this propably already know who I am, but I'll throw a few words anyway. So I'm an artist, half finnish and half polish. Practically I'm all polish, though. I haven't ever been in Finland, but my father was finnish and before my parents broke up, he raised me with a finnish twist.

Well, anyway, that's not important. This blog is about my art, not about me. I make installations and I let them speak for themselves. I make them, but that's all. Otherwise, it's all about the art.

Now you may ask, why I made this blog in the first place. Good question. Over the three years I've been making my installations I've had a few questions if I would like to participate to an exhibition. So far I have said no. I have not liked the idea that I would have to make an installation to a certain place or to move one of my old ones to a new place. Plus I don't wan't to be in the spotlight, so I'd rather leave myself out of the official art shows. If you wan't to see my installations, just go and see them. And I actually would prefer, if people would bumb into them accidentally.

My new work has drawn more attention than my other works combined, which is the reason for this blog too. I will not tell more about the work at this point, as it is not done yet, but somehow a few people got to know some details about it. They thought it was very offensive and tried to contact me so they could tell me that, as if I should care. So, this blog will be my channel of information about this new work. I hate the idea that someone can and will spread rumours and false info about my work, so through this blog I can spread the truth. I'm aware that this whole thing is, as they say, small potatoes, but it's important to me, so that's why I'm writing this.

My friend actually tried to make a wikipedia entry about me too, but apparently it got deleted, because I'm not important enough:) So, this blog is all you're going to have. At least until the new work is finished. Well, got to go now, but I will update soon to tell more about this whole thing.
